Visitor Center

The Aleen Steinberg Visitor Center, located at the High Falls Access Area, 89 Buck Forest Road, Cedar Mountain, NC 28718. Opened to the public on July 1, 2013 the Visitor Center is staffed by dedicated volunteers with knowledge of the area. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from March 15 to December 31.

During January of 2022, the Visitor Center's interior will be closed to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Free maps of DuPont State Recreational Forest (DSRF) and information about the surrounding area will be available on the Visitor Center's main porch. The Visitor Center's restrooms are in a separate building and will remain open to the public. We hope to reopen the Visitor Center's interior from February 1 to March 14, 2022, on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
